Cameron Stallones’ Sun Araw has been pumping ultra-lazy/hazy psychedelic dubby blues since 2007 and with every album he tries to reform his sound without losing the gently flowing tropical aura. “Two From the Desert” is a documentary of two concerts that took place in the sunburned flats of the Yucca Valley in October 2012 as the Sun Araw Band, with two additional members enhancing the vision in the scorching sun. Impressive, trippy and lengthy live performance recorded with great quality. Available for just 3 dollars. Recommended!

Rancho Shampoo y la Indian Gold Orchestra - El Vuelo Del Golondrino

This Mexican psychedelic “supergroup” is hellbent to transport the listener into the heart of the dense, intense psychedelic experience. Headed by the mysterious shaman Rancho Shampoo, the group travels the musican world, throwing dancey tribal workouts, dubby bassy bliss, fuzzed out desert rock and a pit of a religious ritual mysteriousness into a trippy, mind-expanding mix. Highly recommended!

Rakit Dibs - Human Energy

Multicolor, kaleidoscopic trippertronics from Perth, Australia on a more melody-oriented and less intense side of the man behind the Salamander project. Like a more psychedelicized version of Peaking Lights without the vocals. But the dubbiness and the summerlike atmosphere is still there, together with some head-bobbing beats. Highly recommended for the upcoming summer (well, at least in the Northern Hemisphere, sorry Australia, you already had your turn)! You can also buy the cassette if you enjoy the digital stuff.

Imperial Topaz - Imperial

Brooklyn duo of Caroline Teagle (the half-mastermind and the visual talent behind the wonderful tape label Tranquility Tapes) and guitarist Jake Pepper (supported by Jef Brown on saxophone on the opening track “In the Waves) craft lazy, chillwave sounds on their debut “proper” album (originally released on Tranquility Tapes itself in cassette form), occupying the summery haze somewhere between lush pop of Toro Y Moi and the astral dub of Edibles. Teagle’s silky voices blends perfectly with Pepper’s delayed and reverbed guitar. A good, quick fix of summery chill sounds in four songs.
