Jeff Beam - Be Your Own Mirror
Every once in a while, I like to take a break from smeared, drifting drones and savage guitar destruction to post something more poppy, something more melodic, more concise, baroque even. Jeff Beam’s Be Your Own Mirror is an impressive album, not only because of how high it stands songwriting-wise, but also because of how many collaborators Jeff managed to get for this album and in how many places he recorded his songs. Influenced by classic psychedelic pop and indie pop, Jeff Beam infects us with rich arrangements and a plethora of kaleidoscopic hooks. Wonderful.
